The purpose of Empilweni Drug and Substance Abuse Treatment Centre, is to provide patients with a safe, secure and healthy environment, which will enable them to detox from all the drugs and substances in their systems.
The program is run by social workers, and stretches over 8 weeks. The patients interact with other patients who are on the same journey towards recovery during these 8 weeks.
Multi-disciplinary Team
Social workers, Social Auxiliary Workers, Care workers, Professional nurses, Occupational therapist, Clinical Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Medical doctor, Religious consultant -Volunteers, Support groups – Volunteers, Life Coaches.
Objectives
• Enable service user’s to understand their addiction and empower with coping skills to deal effectively with their problem.
• Enable service user’s to get back into structure and routine.
• Enable service user’s to get back into structure and routine.
• Apply holistic approach – covers the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual & social dimensions.
• Prepare Substance User for Re-integration and Relapse Prevention.
Treatment Plan - Program
• The treatment program runs over 8 weeks and on a 24 hour basis.
• The Service User will go through an orientation program during the first week after admission.
• Special leave will only be considered after confirmation by family members.
